Fakhar Zaman has made history in Pakistan cricket. He has become the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in men’s Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket. He reached this milestone during the third T20I against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 14, 2026.

The left-handed batter hit the historic six off Sri Lankan fast bowler Binura Fernando. He cleared the boundary over deep midwicket. Before the match, Fakhar had 99 T20I sixes. Therefore, he needed just one more to reach the landmark, according to Dunya News.

However, Pakistan could not finish the match with a win. Sri Lanka defeated the hosts in the final game of the series. Despite the loss, Fakhar’s achievement became a major highlight of the match.

How Fakhar Zaman Reached 100 T20I Sixes

Fakhar reached the milestone during a short innings in the series finale. After hitting Fernando for a six, he lost his wicket to Eshan Malinga. He scored 12 runs off seven deliveries.

Although Fakhar departed early, his six secured a place in Pakistan’s T20I record books. It also highlighted his aggressive batting style and ability to hit powerful shots against international bowlers.

Fakhar has represented Pakistan in T20I cricket since 2017. He has remained an important option in the team’s batting order. In addition, his power-hitting ability has featured in major international tournaments, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Pakistan Lose Final T20I Against Sri Lanka

Pakistan scored 168 for eight in their 20 overs. Captain Sahibzada Farhan led the innings with 76 runs off 47 balls. However, Fakhar’s dismissal in the fourth over meant Pakistan needed more runs from the middle order.

Sri Lanka then chased the target successfully. The visitors won the match with eight wickets in hand. Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis played a key role in their successful chase.

Pakistan had already won the first two matches. As a result, they secured the three-match series 2-1 despite losing the final game. Fakhar Zaman’s record remained a notable individual achievement from the match.
