Recent Honour-Related Killing in Orangi
The latest incident comes only days after another suspected honour-related killing in the same part of Karachi.
On September 16, police said a man named Abbas Ali was shot dead in Orangi Town’s Sector 10. Police alleged that members of his wife’s family carried out the attack because they opposed his marriage.
Police later arrested two suspects in that case and recovered the alleged murder weapon, according to Dawn. One other suspected attacker died after an angry crowd caught and assaulted him while he tried to flee, police said.
The latest case involving Zarqa Bibi remains under investigation. Police have yet to announce an arrest in the shooting, and further details may emerge as investigators trace the suspect and examine the evidence.
