FBR Officials Among Those Killed

According to police and local reports, two FBR officials and two civilians died in the attack. Armed men reportedly opened fire at the petrol station before fleeing the area.

Separate Attack Targets Highway Police

A separate firing incident also occurred in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday. Unidentified gunmen attacked a Highway Police mobile van on the DI Khan bypass.

The attack killed the driver of the patrol vehicle. Two other police personnel, including the mobile unit’s in-charge, Subhan, suffered injuries.

Police launched a search operation after the attack and began efforts to trace those responsible. The incidents have added to security concerns in Dera Ismail Khan, where authorities have reported several attacks in recent weeks.

Investigation Underway

The latest attacks come less than two weeks after a deadly attack on a joint security check post in the Aman Mela area of DI Khan. That September 26 attack killed several people, including two Pakistan Customs officials, according to an FBR statement.

For Tuesday’s shootings, police have yet to announce any arrests or identify a group responsible. Investigators are examining the attack sites while security personnel continue efforts to locate the suspects.
