Apple Pay Coming to Pakistan? iOS 27 PayPak Clue Sparks Fresh Buzz

Apple Pay could be getting closer to Pakistan, but Apple has not confirmed a launch date. Fresh attention around the service follows reports that references to Pakistan’s domestic PayPak payment network were found in iOS 27 beta code. The discovery has renewed interest among Pakistani iPhone users.

The references reportedly appeared during the iOS 27 beta cycle. They include terms such as “PayPak” and “PayPak card” in Apple’s software code. Tech reports said the entries resemble payment-network references used for Apple Wallet integrations.

What the iOS 27 Clue Means

The PayPak references are notable because Pakistan is still missing from Apple’s official list of countries and regions where Apple Pay is available. Apple’s current iOS 27 feature-availability page lists supported Apple Pay markets across Asia, the Middle East and other regions. However, Pakistan is not included.

Apple’s main Apple Pay support page also does not list Pakistan. The page covers countries where users can add supported credit, debit or prepaid cards from participating banks and card issuers.

However, the appearance of PayPak in iOS code could indicate that Apple is preparing software support for the local payment network. Reports noted that the code includes specific network names instead of only showing a general Wallet option.

Still, this does not confirm an Apple Pay launch. It also does not establish a release date for the service in Pakistan.

Apple Pay Is Still Not Officially Available

For Pakistani users, the key point is that Apple has not announced Apple Pay support for the country. Apple’s current documentation continues to exclude Pakistan.

Therefore, users should not treat the iOS 27 code discovery as an official launch announcement.

Meanwhile, some online discussions have mentioned Apple Pay-related options appearing in banking apps. However, these reports are based on user observations and have not been confirmed by Apple or the banks involved.

The PayPak discovery has nevertheless increased interest in a possible launch. Apple has also been expanding its payment services and infrastructure in more markets.

What Pakistani Users Should Expect

If Apple Pay eventually launches in Pakistan, users could add eligible bank cards to Apple Wallet. They could then use compatible iPhones or Apple Watches for contactless payments at supported terminals.

Apple explains that Apple Pay requires participation from card issuers and supported payment networks. As a result, a potential launch would also depend on local banks and payment providers.

For now, the PayPak reference in iOS 27 is a strong clue, not confirmation. Apple has not announced a Pakistan launch, and there is no officially confirmed release date.

The development remains closely watched by Pakistani iPhone users. The next clear indication could come from Apple, local banks or an update to Apple’s official Pakistan availability.
