Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Umrah flight from Multan to Jeddah raised concerns among passengers after reports of a disruption and a protest by pilgrims. However, the latest available flight-tracking information does not independently confirm a cancellation of the October 3 flight.
Flight records show that PIA flight PK739 was scheduled to operate from Multan International Airport to Jeddah on October 3, 2026. The flight was listed for departure at around 5:20am Pakistan time. It was expected to arrive in Jeddah at 8:25am local time.
What Happened to the PIA Umrah Flight?
Available flight-history data indicates that PK739 did operate from Multan to Jeddah on October 3. According to FlightRadar24 records, the aircraft departed Multan at around 00:37 UTC. It was expected to reach Jeddah at approximately 05:25 UTC.
Therefore, the claim that the October 3 PIA Umrah flight was cancelled at Multan Airport could not be independently verified from the latest available flight records.
The flight is part of PIA’s scheduled Multan-Jeddah service. It is also used for Umrah travel. In addition, travel-industry listings show a Multan-Jeddah PIA Umrah return package operating under flights PK739 and PK740.
Earlier PIA Pilgrim Disruption
A separate incident involving Multan pilgrims was reported in June 2026. On June 2, passengers travelling from Jeddah to Multan said they were left behind despite holding confirmed tickets for PIA flight PK846.
According to reports, the passengers said they had reached the airport two hours before departure. However, they were offloaded during the boarding process.
The passengers then protested at Jeddah Airport. Women were also among those affected. However, reports did not establish that this June incident involved a cancellation at Multan Airport.
Instead, the incident concerned pilgrims who were left behind during their return journey from Saudi Arabia.
For the October 3 situation, the latest available flight data points to PK739 operating rather than being cancelled. Further confirmation from PIA or airport authorities would be needed before reporting a cancellation or protest at Multan Airport as an established fact.
