Pakistan’s Commander of the National Strategic Command, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, has warned adversaries against hostile actions across Pakistan’s borders. He said any miscalculation would trigger a response beyond their expectations.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, General Raza stressed that Pakistan remained firm on national security. He also warned that conflict was dangerous in a nuclearised region. His remarks were reported by Dawn.

The warning comes amid rising regional tensions. It also follows recent comments by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about possible action against alleged cross-border terrorist activity.

General Aamer Raza Addresses Cadets at PMA Kakul

General Raza delivered the warning at the passing-out parade of cadets from the Pakistan Military Academy’s 154th Long Course in Kakul. He said Pakistan’s armed forces were ready to defend the country’s territory and sovereignty against external threats.

The commander also raised concerns about disinformation. He said some hostile elements were trying to weaken ties between the Pakistani public and the armed forces. According to him, these efforts included propaganda, proxy networks and other forms of unconventional warfare.

In addition, General Raza urged the graduating cadets to remain committed to their duties. He advised them to resist misleading narratives. He also stressed that national unity, territorial integrity and public confidence were vital to Pakistan’s security.

India-Pakistan Tensions Raise Regional Concerns

The remarks followed comments by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday. Singh warned that alleged fresh terrorist activity originating across the border would lead to a stronger military response. Indian news agency ANI reported his statement, which Dawn also cited.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office criticised Singh’s remarks on Friday. Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said Pakistan rejected threats of aggression. He added that the country remained ready to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Khan also warned that Pakistan’s commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness.

The exchange reflects ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. Both countries have experienced military confrontations in the past. Therefore, restraint and diplomatic engagement remain important for regional stability.

Pakistan’s Position on Regional Security

General Raza also discussed Pakistan’s role in regional diplomacy. He said recent geopolitical changes had strengthened the country’s strategic importance. Furthermore, he supported efforts to restore regional stability and reaffirmed Pakistan’s diplomatic and political support for the Palestinian people.

Overall, the warning reflects Pakistan’s military leadership’s position on national security and deterrence. However, the reported remarks did not announce a new military operation. They also did not specify any immediate changes to military operations along the border.
