How the Fire Started

Police said the fire started while someone was transferring petrol from a motorcycle near the junk market. The flames quickly spread to nearby shops and storage areas.

The flames also reached nearby houses. Emergency teams worked to prevent the fire from spreading further into the surrounding residential area.

Firefighters from the Chaman Brigade Scouts joined local residents to tackle the blaze. FC Chaman Brigade Scouts also deployed modern firefighting and rescue teams.

Private water tankers and other water sources supported the operation. Firefighters and residents also helped evacuate women and other people who became trapped in the affected area.

The firefighting teams eventually contained the flames after several hours of continuous work. Authorities continued cooling operations to prevent the fire from reigniting.

Damage Assessment Underway

The fire affected more than 25 shops, sheds and warehouses. Several homes also suffered from the spread of the flames, according to the initial reports.

The exact financial value of the damaged goods and property remains unclear. Officials have not yet released a confirmed figure for the total losses.
